Methow Whitewater River Rafting Trips in Okanogan County
Class II - IV Whitewater :: Easy to Moderate :: Ages 12 +
Monstrous waves :: Sunshine :: Black Canyon rapids :: 2-day trip option

The Methow River has Washington's biggest, most plentiful and powerful waves when the spring runoff arrives. The big, towering waves have made the Methow River a guide's favorite. With the Methow River, you get a 16-mile, Class II-IV river trip that starts off teasingly and closes with a rush. In just a few miles, you have rapids with colorful names like Oh, S__t!, Cape Canaveral, Another Roadside Attraction, Zero Hour, Staircase and Black Canyon. It's an excellent river for veterans as well as physically-fit first-timers. It is also an excellent river to combine with the Wenatchee River for a full weekend or two days following the Cascade Loop.

Black Canyon Rapids
A mass of whitewater ending in a millrace of towering chevron waves rebounding off the left bank cliff wall.

Staircase Rapids
Close on the heels of Black Canyon, the river stairsteps down a steady grade producing riotous, boat-rinsing waves.

Zero Hour Rapids
A screaming left hand turn with several enormous pourovers sprinkled throughout the channel.

Hang Ten Rapids
Sixteen foot rafts have been swallowed by the 'hole' that awaits at the bottom of this set of waves.

Another Roadside Attraction Rapids
Named for Tom Robbins' tour de force novel, Attraction includes a raft-munching hole called Cape Canaveral and a ginormous wave known as 'Oh, S**t!'
